500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Oh this is nice. A good, roasty toasty beer. Very drinkable. very refreshing. Bags of flavours. Really fine, tip toe balance of sweet and bitter, sharp and comforting. The spices don’t really come through that much - the dark malts tend to overshadow them, but they add a little bit of warmth and depth, and fill in the corners. This is a very satisfying Winter Warmer. zacgillbanks (5128) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2013
Bottle from trembling Madness, York. This is a very dark brown-black beer with chocolate and spiced red fruity flavours, plum notes and a slight sour creamy fruity finish. leaparsons (10504) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2011
Bottle. Copper with a cream foam. Aromas are coffee and chocolate with yeast and citrus. Herbal and spicy with some burnt notes and grapefruit. Flavours are nutty, fruity coffee with grapefruit bitterness. Dark chocolate with festive spices. Good. BrewTom (660) - - DEC 6, 2015
Black with light brown head. Caramel nose followed by the same in the mouth - sweet with chocolate & coffee undertones. Perfect for Christmas.

Bottle at the Shoulder of Mutton 21.06.12 in company of Peter Fowler who cracked this open, cheers Peter. Chesnut in colour with a slim off-white head that swiftly departed. From the description I understand that there is ginger and coriander in here but they are pleasantly subtle enough not to ruin things. The hoppiness is still there this is lovely and fruity. 500 ml bottle [BBE:4.7%]
Blood Alc: 34mg/100ml
Aroma is burned chocolate and vanilla. Colour is black with a coagulent white head. The beer is quite tangy with heavily roasted to burnt flavours and the texture is halfway between water and a thick stout. there is a sweetness to balance the roasty flavours but the drink does lack excitement or interest. Definitely a bbf beer, it?s good, has a little character but nothing amazing.
Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 14th December 2010. Pungent aroma and spiciness. Fruity and floral hop in-mouth and a berry fruit finish on a light mouthfeel. fonefan (48790) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUL 26, 2011

Draught @ Euston Tap, 190 Euston Road, London, Greater London, England NW1 2EF.
Clear dark brown colour with a average, creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, pine, orange - citrus, english licorice, light yeasty, UK yeast. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chalk. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle. Muddy brown beer with a reasonable head. The aroma is mildly roasted and hopped, and the flavour is roasted, bitter and mildly chocolaty. It does have ginger notes. Overall a nice roasted and bitter chocolaty beer.
