Factoberfest 2011 the presence of the oak is immediately noticeable. Rounded caramel and vanilla notes along with the general “oaky timbre” of a virgin wood aged beer were to the fore, with a malty bitter hiding in the background, finishing with an orange peel note.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 17/02/2011. Deep amber with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish, cereal malt aroma with some redcurrants and wood chips. Flavour of biscuits malts, with some caramel and dryish finish. Fine, probably more rounded than the standard No 7.
