UPDATED: JUL 23, 2013 Bottle at Bruce’s, London. Pours deep brown with a tight, creamy tan head. Basic dark malt nose, hints of ripe fruits burnt bread, light cocoa. Light sweet flavor, simple chalky cocoa, soft roast, light earth. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Light dryness to finish, a bit more dry cocoa, low bitterness. Drinkable stout. (3.6)
Bottle at a ChrisO Tasting - London. Pours clear, red-brown with a strong, beige cream head. Dark brown bread nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, dirt, plastic, cocoa. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderate cocoa finish, more dirt. Meh. Not sure this is in tip top shape (3.0)

Opaque black beer with a good fluffy pale tan head. Palate is airy and dry. Minerals. Insipid dark malt, light and dry. what Port? Minerally dry finish. I’ve not had a duller Port Stout than this. Very disappointing!

Pours a pitch black colour with a beige creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, cherries and milk chocolate. Flavour of roasted malts, cold coffee, wood, smooth dark chocolate, sharp cherry notes, raisins and quite complex caramel sweetness. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes sharp, roasty, tad sweet and chocolate finish. Pleasant.

500ml bottle. Black colour with average to huge, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Cautious dark malty aroma has hints of milk chocolate, a touch of shortbread, white coffee. Taste is minimally sweet dark malty, fruity hints of red berries, some milk chocolate, in the finish hints of shortbread and white coffee; slightly watery in between. Bottle @ Bruce’s. The pour’s deep brown with a small head. The nose is woody, chocolate, nutmeg and pepper. Woody tang, some dark grapes. The taste is brown sugar. Creme brulee. Pours deep dark red-brown, almost black color with a huge beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, some hops and caramel. Flavor of milky chocolate, cocoa, dark malts and mild coffee notes. Creamy malty palate with a sweetish chocolaty finish. Nice.
