[cask at the Grain Barge, Bristol] Pours the expected dark ruby in colour, thin white head. Very slightly spicy from the Bramling Cross, rounded aroma from the sweet malt. Sweet and caramelly on the palate, but with no cloying edges. Finish is sweet, quite long in duration, and pretty satisfying Nightfall (1307) - Hamburg, GERMANY - AUG 21, 2009

[cask @ RBESG 2009]
Almost chocolatey malt aroma with toasted almonds and cream. Hazy red-brown with a dense, tan foam. Creamy nuts flavour with a touch of brown sugar and a weak bitterness and not hops. Weak flavour overall. Light body, low carbonation, very slightly bitter finish. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 10, 2009
A Mes rate: cask at the Microbar.cgarvieuk (25728) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 30, 2009
Darkish amber with a pretty impressive off white head. Assertive fruit and nut character but with some really good earthy malt in the background. Big caramel finish. Possibly a little under hopped but for something that I would not usually think too much of, I rather enjoyed this.

Winter Beer Festival, 2009. Dark amber beer with a strongish head. The aroma is toffee and caramel, and the flavour is plainly toffee and hopped. Overall a nice beer.
