Bottle. Black with a firm beige foam. Aromas are coffee with very herbal natural liquorice and solid smokiness. Creamy oak barrel with mellow berries and burnt toast. Oily with some rumminess. Flavours are rummy with rich roast coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. Sweet berries in the background with a dry boozy finish.

Bottle at home 16th December 2012, not bad, not enough smoke for me, but thought it was ok

Rune (13381) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 4, 2012
500ml bottle shared with Magne and Per at The Queens Head. Tan-coloured head to a cloudy, dark brown coloured body. Spotty lacing. Smell of oak, malts and resin. Blended flavour of dark malts and resinous hops. Bittersweet coffee ending. Ashy dry in the mouth. Decent stout (London, 23.11.2012).

Bottle at home from bitter virtue.
Dark ruby thick bodied porter with fluffy beige head. Barely any nose, medium bodied with low carbonation. Rich chocolate and molasses, touch of astringency. Long bitter finish.

Pudding (266) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2012
500ml bottle Cotteridge Wines B30. A pleasant drink. Sweet, with perhaps a taste of smoke if you search hard.

zacgillbanks (5441) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2012
Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. An inky black beer that pours with a thick creamy tan head. It has slight sour red fruity and chocolate flavours followed by light smoke on the finish. Really Good!

FatPhil (16933) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 1, 2012
500ml bottle (Queen’s Head, London)
Lovely smoky aroma. Full palate. Dry burnt roast, but just shy of astringent. Full and roasty finish. Solid slightly-smoked porter.

RichardGretton (4772) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 31, 2012
Bottle. Black beer with a reddish tinge and a strong light brown head. The aroma is solidly roasted and the flavour is bitter with roasted coffee notes. Overall a very nice roasted coffee flavoured beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
