Tap at brewery. Clear light amber with a thin spotty head. Smells almost of a meaty herbal spaghetti sauce...not sure what to make of that. Herbal hops, a touch of rosemary, earthy toffee malts, and just a tone of sausage or something on the nose. Flavor is grainy and herbal with a nice balancing bitterness, finishing off-dry with an aftertaste of floral hop resin. Not shabby, just a little confusing. 3fourths (9332) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 29, 2005
Amber colored with a lot of floating particles. Malt aroma has some cherry and plum notes, mostly an old grain smell. Thick, malty, sweet red ale type texture and flavor... there are definitly some nut flavors hidden beneath the semi-sweet, oily cedar flavors. Buttered nuts, perhaps is more accurate. Light cedar and toffee hop finish, marginal bitterness. I prefer an APA to contain more citrus flavors and be a little more hopped, but this try is not that bad. Drinkable and tasty. Citrus hop aroma. Clear golden coloured with a pineapple fruit flavour. Some bitterness in a crisp and dry finish. blipp (9172) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 29, 2013
Bottle. Pours amber, with medium sediment, and an off white head. Weird sweet malts, just the faintest hint of dicetyl, and light herbal hops. I’d assume this was old, but the bottle says it’s 4 months old, so... it’s really not that old. Not that good. jredmond (8206) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 30, 2013
Bottle at Clockwork’s 4K / 5K / 10K Gathering 2013. Pours a light amber body with light lacing. Aroma is dry citrus and bitter, floral hop. Mouthfeel is medium and dry with notes of citrus, grapefruit rind and floral hops.

Bottle via a trade with jbye4334. Pours with a large white head over a hazy golden body. Aroma is a fresh hand full of hops. Citrus and some light crystal. Taste is hoppy, honey and citrus. Medium bubbles. A solid pale ale. Ernest (7663) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 12, 2003
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2007 Bottle (May 07 bottling). Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (wort, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (resin), moderately yeasty (dough, sweat). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Very bland and boring. Slightly worty aroma and lots of raw yeast stink, as with many of Bristol’s year-round brews. Sledutah (7491) - Utah, USA - JUN 27, 2013

Slightly cloudy golden with a small white head and spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel and butterscotch. Flavors of malt, floral, caramel, buttery and herbal tea
Clear copper color with a 1 finger head. Mild aroma of cascade hops and bready malts. Nice taste of caramel sweet malts with a nicely bitter pine hop taste to finish. 101606 Braudog (6676) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - MAY 6, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2007 Amber with a thin veil. Heavenly citric nose. Excellent balance on a solid malt base. Beautiful goodness of those NW hops. God, I love beer.
