COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Red Rocket is lively and up front, with a malt-inspired body and a crisp finish. Its character comes from a blend of Perle, Willamette and Cascade hops. Dry hopped with Cascade for a refreshing aroma.

Bottle pours Orange w/ medium particles & white head excellent lacing and mostly lasting. Hay aroma. Light sweet with a bitter punch, it really pushes the upper end of the IBU for most Pale Ales. A complex beer with both malty & hoppy flavors coming through.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear bright amber with a fizzy white head. Tastes like caramel, corn, doughy malt, and dry grapefruit hops. Light/medium body and medium carbonation. Smells like caramel, corn, a hint of vinegar, and some doughy malt.

Bottled. Hazy pale amber, coarse head. Grapefruit and grass up front. Dry with light-medium body and clean, crisp mouthfeel. Crystal malt meets grapefruit and grass. Really bitter finish. Basic, but drinkable,

Draft, Brew at the Zoo Benefit in Denver. Poured a clear orange color. Couldn’t muster any more than a filmy off white head. No lace was left behind. Aroma was of flowery hops and fresh cut grass. Dry on the tongue up front with delicate malty caramel sweetness at the end which lingers.

I thought it had a nice smooth taste and a great redish apperance. However, I just can't get past how watery it was for an APA.

jewedekind (450) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 8, 2004
Nice piney, floral nose over a thin off white head with little retention and no lacing. Nice amber/brown colr with very slight haze. Flavor is pine resin with mild bitterness that lingers. American hops (Cascade and Liberty?) evident. Lacks individuality and hop character. May be a bit old.

talon1117 (1152) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 7, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2009 Pours sparkling amber with a moderate, white, pillowy head which leaves a very small layer and minimal lace. Nose is typical of poor APA’s with sweat, grass, faint cookie, and light citrus. Flavor is much of the same; sweat, wet grass, a little herbal, and faint pine with some sweet bread notes. Palate is lively, light to medium, and watery. Finishes quickly with wet grass and faint sweet breads. Bitterness is moderately light in this boring APA. Nothing too remarkable here.
