Medium bodied, smooth with a slightly dry and bitter finish.
From Oct 2006
Poured from a 12oz bottle a near pitch black with a medium head of foam that shrunk quickly leaving just a fine layer. As an aside, there's a Month and Week indicator on the label but there's nothing notched.
The smell is a nice dose of roasted malt and grain.
The taste is kind of sweet malty up front but that is quickly overtaken by some good roasty malt and grain. I also taste some chocolate and coffee notes midway through whilst the finish returns to the sweet malt side that I noted in the initial taste. This is a nicely done Oatmeal Stout that I'd love to get more of. :^) mike5326 (1780) - virginia beach, Virginia, USA - MAR 17, 2017

Pours dark brown, black in the glass, with a rapidly diminishing tan head. Aromas of toast, oatmeal, coffee, and a faint earthy pine note. Medium body, low carbonation, lightly dry. Mildly sweet, a hint of tartness, mild bitter finish with a lingering oaty bitterness. Well balanced, smooth, not as thick or sweet as might be expected. Enjoyed a pint of this beer at the brewpub at the Ivy Wild school in Colorado Springs. The beer had a rich, thicker dark black appearance with a dark hue and a good-sized creamy, darker off-white head with good retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma had notes of oatmeal, bread, and grain, along with some malt and caramel scents for balance. The taste was somewhat sweet, featuring oatmeal, grain, and caramel, along with a mild bitter effect for balance. It was a fairly wet and creamy beer, with a nice, filling and smooth mouthfeel to go with ample carbonation. kambei70 (1110) - - DEC 2, 2015

A- Black color, dark liquid, light brown head.
T- Cocoa, smoke, tobacco, dry, dusty.
P- Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, dry finish.
O- Okay, but it felt almost dusty. Very dry and no sweetness at all. Mostly cocoa and tobacco rule this brew. kevinator (2613) - The Colony, Texas, USA - JUN 24, 2015
I had this originally years ago and remembered it well, or so I thought. Sadly somewhat of a let down. Faint malty aroma. Average dark chocolate color but the palate was too watery, especially for an oatmeal stout. Flavor was above average with roasted malt and earthy tones. On tap at Bristol Brewing. A well balanced, easy drinking oatmeal stout, with a nice balance of oatmeal creaminess and gentle booze kick. Nice.
