COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fresh and feisty, our twist on an American Amber Ale is aromatic and uplifting. Five malts mingle for a rich, complex flavor. Named after the Effra river, which now flows beneath urban Brixton, this ale is perfect for deep thirsts.

Svesse (8595) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAY 13, 2017
(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clapham, London, 22 April 2017) Dark amber colour with foamy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dried fruit, toffee and apricots. Malty taste with notes of caramel, toffee, dark bread, raisins, apricots and a gentle bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

BlackHaddock (7312) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2017
Cask half-pint in The Brixton Craft on 22nd Jan 2017. Deep amber body, white head that lasted. Malts all the way here, well until the slightly bitter hop finish anyway. Toffee like esters in the nose and initial taste, a bag of mixed fruits within the aroma and flavours also. More going on than meets the eye in this brew. Liked it.

Fin (10531) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 3, 2016
Keg at Brixton Brewery Tap, Brixton, Saturday 3rd December 2016 whilst on a Brixton and Brockwell Park walk from the London Hidden Walks Book vol 2 Pours dark amber with a filmy white head atop. Fruity and quite traditional, however it’s got a good bitter bite. Good beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle, 23 Wine and Whiskey, Leicester. Toffee, biscuit and weetabix malts with autumn fruit. Lightly spiced. Hints of lemon. Earthy with hedgerow hops. Low bitterness on the finish. Decent.

kwik-lime (1925) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2016
Smooth and malty, not much hop going on, a fraction tart with the fruitiness. Fine but didn’t especially enjoy this.

magda174a (17) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2016
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2016 Di invitante colore ambrato, al palato non rispetta le aspettative risultando troppo aromatica e alcolica. Difficile da bere.

DwarfeD (3513) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - APR 22, 2016
33cl bottle at Wheatsheaf, London. Somewhat hazy amber with a slighlty off-white head. Nice bitter amber brew.

prawlie (1591) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2016
Bottle. Fine fruity aroma. Decent hoppy ale, with quite a lot going on, and a nice bitter finish.

AndrewC (376) - Canterbury, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2016
Bottle. Mid brown. Doesn’t smell of much. Grapefruit and perspex flavours dominate. The finish is like an old fashioned brown bitter. It’s okay.

minutemat (5471) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2016
330ml bottle @ Blind Tiger, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy orangey amber. Small white head. Taste is bitter caramel, biscuit and earthy malt. Not a lot of fruitiness coming through. A bit average.
