Golden IPA with a light hoppy aroma. Very intense hops, dry and bilous. Needs more malts for balance. Lots of lemon and grapefruits. Metallic finish. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - OCT 4, 2004
Tap at brewpub: Deep amber hue with an average frothy white head and good lace. The aroma has notes of piney aromatic hops, light citrus, caramel and toasted malts. The nose is a bit weak. The taste starts crisp and clean with a bitter front and a nice citric twang. Some sweetness and roasted malt balance. A fleeting finish with some bitters. The feel is slightly metallic and bready, just average. A solid brew, nothing big or fancy. More akin to a slightly hoppier APA, it is quaffable. irishsnake (355) - Oakland, California, USA - JUN 30, 2004
(sample @ brewery) a deep gold, lightly hazed, with good lacing. aroma is lightly hoppy (light for an IPA, that is), with prominently citrus-y American hop notes. flavor starts malty, then gives way to an unpleasantly astringent bitterness. hops and malt show decent balance, but ultimately astringency hinders the drinking. burgerlicious (308) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUN 28, 2004
The carbonation was very active. The hoppy taste wasn’t surprising for an IPA. hotstuff (5258) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - FEB 3, 2004
Draft sample. This beer had a small sized white head that consisted of fine sized bubbles that fully diminished. The body was hazy and uncarbonated with a golden hue. The nose was hoppy and the flavor was bitter and hoppy with a lingering aftertaste. The mouthfeel was fairly smooth and dry with a watery and thin texture. This was a light bodied beer with no lacing.

This draft sample poured a minimal head of fine clear mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a minimal lace. The body was uncarbonated hazy and light brown in color. The aroma was typical of a hoppy IPA. The mouth feel was malty and the flavor was malty with a mild hop note. cherr (162) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 18, 2004
I had this beer on tap at the brewery. The color is a medium amber. The head is cream in color. The smell is of grapefruit and floral hops. The taste does not disapoint. It is extremely hoppy as an IPA should be. Overall very good beer. Dogbrick (13759) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 16, 2004
From a sampler: This brew is a clear amber color with a minimal off-white head. Almost no lacing. Nice floral hops/citrus aroma. Medium-bodied and adequately bitter from start to finish, with some citrus and malt flavors as well. The finish is bitter and lingering but not that tasty. Overall this is a satisfactory IPA. Faint hoppy aroma. Have to get your nose right up to it to smell it. Not much head, large bubble, mostly dissipating. Not much lace. Some carbonation. Off flavors. Definite serious hops, but not well balanced.
