COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Broadheads Grindstone Amber is a tenacious and tasty, rich-coloured amber ale that is hell-bent on hitting the spot. Bolstered by just the right balance of base malts, and finished with a strong but sweet sharpness, Grindstone is not for the laid-back beer drinker.

Growler from the source - Looks and smells like a macro amber, tastes like the upset was in the works, but didnt pan out.

473ml can. Light orange appearance, hazy. Small clingy white head. Nose has caramel and light citrus. Taste - caramel malt, some sweetness and maybe a hint of orange. Nice mouthfeel, but overall a simple brew that was pretty average.

Appearance: hazy pale amber with one finger of medium-dense ivory head diminishing gradually to a thin skim, minimal lacing. (3/5) Aroma: grainy caramel, bready, floral. (5/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-low bitter. (5/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry bitter and lightly spicy finish. (3/5) Its really, really hard from to get excited about an amber - and this doesnt really change my opinion much. Malt-forward, with some floral hoppy character, but not much depth or complexity.

Can. Pours a clear amber with no head. Aroma pretzels and syrup. Taste is sweet. Palate is flat and watery. Overall a forgetful beer.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2015 A barnyard smell with geese in musty mitre basement maybe cheese, maybe mushrooms but we?ll never know. Copper color, full amber lacing glass flank. Faint taste of coral treasures on a warm afternoon. Satisfying to the senses but inevitable. Buy it once but not aging is asking for it.

Can. Deep orange-amber, off white head. Earthy grainy caramel, thin. Tea-like undertones. I did not enjoy this.

Can from the LCBO. Poured into a Shaker, poured a light amber with a thin white head. Malty with no real hop presence to the aroma, rather thin and weakly carbonated on the palate. Mildly sweet, clean finish. Not at all memorable, kind of a boring beer. Dont think Id buy another one.

Can. Hazy red body, small white head. He aroma is nice, with some smoke and licorice. The taste is good, it has licorice and nice hops at the end.

Had this on tap and the can offering - I will write this review on the canned sample I acquired was a lot different than the draft sample - yes this has all the attributes of an "amber ale" (great catch-all category) but this canned version verges on bland.
