3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Growler straight from the source. Aroma is mediocre, appearance is nice and cloudy. Tastes like you pulled off the upset.
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2016 Been avoiding this one (not consciously) as a not really pale ale doesn?t quite excite me, but the price was right (free) so here goes. Copper pour, good sized head. Some toffee in the aroma and a slight hint of orange. That?s it. Not really hop or malt forward - kinda sweet with faint hopping detected (still a lot more than in the aroma) grassy. This beer has done one thing, inspired me to brew my own APA. I wouldn?t be starting from any further back than these broad dogs. AleRider78 (1386) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - APR 10, 2016
Picked up a growler at the brewery. Pours a very thick head, pretty creamy. Has a dark pale appearance. Good lacing and hardly any carbonation. Fairly strong hoppy aromas with mild malts. Sort of bitter hops flavours, very citrusy. Bitter mouthfeel as well, but in a good way. Still pretty smooth. Goes down fairly well for 5.2% abv for an APA. I would try this one again over their Wildcard Ale.

Sunday night out with Ethan brings me to this tap pour at that shitty Scottish bar on Gerrard Street. Ethan demands the hoppiest beer in the bar & this is what we get. Oh dear. Right away Ethan complains that this isn’t a hoppy beer. He’s right, it’s a low fi pale ale, but I don’t hate it the way he does: the eye rolling, the big sighs. If I were turning the dials on this brew, I’d lay off the malts & pump up the hops. Okay beer if there’s nothing better. Just don’t tell Ethan. Sammy (12484) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 28, 2015

341 mL bottle. Pours copper with a thin head of white. Nose is floral and citrusy cascade hop with mild bread and toffee. Modest body and carbonation. Lightly sweet malt and subtle hop bitterness. Strikingly similar to SNPA, in other words, quite good.

Clear amber with bubbly head. Sharp hop-malt combo with light citrus smell. Well balanced at first yielding to bitter finish. Decent bite on the roof of mouth. Nice. czar (9266) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 30, 2013
hazy golden orange pour with a small white head, some retention and a sticky lacing. fruity cereals - doughy malts, some caramel, danky peaches, honey, strawberry-like hops, but also resin, booze. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, grassy-spicy-peppery-piney slightly harsh finish. meh. Pint. Pours a hazy amber with a very thin layer white head. Very light aroma of citrus. Taste is bitter, notes of pine, with an earthy undertone. Not much detected for malt. A bit thin. Finish is bitter, with an earthy crispness. Not bad but would benefit from more flavouring or aromatic hops, and a tad more malt. The low carbonation diminishes the aroma. Tasted as a sample at the brewery. Decent american pale ale that I liked better than the version of Wildcard I sampled at the same time. solidfunk (9213) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - OCT 31, 2013
Strong lime peel aroma here. Heavily hopped and good, but needs a little more balancing out. Pours golden with great head and carpet lacing. This beer has some good potential, just needs some rigging. Finishes very bitter. Tap at Back Tomato.
