UPDATED: FEB 2, 2007 Black with a tiny light brown head. Unique aroma of licorice, roast malt, flowers, earth and hay. Flavour is even more unique, with an initial sour impression that broadens with sweetness and bitterness and a dominant licorice tone.

Very dark brown with huge medium-brown head. Roasty notes in the nose with black malt. Some nuttiness. Thick malts and chocolate, some tar, hints of coffee. Chewy, sweet finish.

Dark black color, steamy tan head. The aroma is roasty & sweet; thin. The flavor is fruity & chared. Finishes balanced with a smoky tail. Thanks Madsberg! NosirIwont (2534) - Frederikssund, DENMARK - JUN 1, 2005
Bottle. Pours almost pitch black with a thick, brown head which settles nicely. Aroma has coffee and chocolate in it. Also a whiff of something which makes me think of vanilla, but isn’t. Flavour is a nice blend of coffee and licorice, with slight notes of tar, and a light/medium bitterness. Sweetish, but not too much. Quite watery, though, which kinda ruins the overall impression.

Opaque black, decent creamy coffee head. Roasted nose. Coffee fruity, hints of tar, medium bodied. Roasted malts in the finish, some unbalanced yeast flavors. Simple stout but drinkable.
Bottled. Fine stout, with a dominating coffee taste, but the aftertaste is of hazel nuts. A little liquirice, too. Both sweet and bitter. Not the heaviest of stouts, this is more of an refreshement than a meal in itself. saxo (18410) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 6, 2006
Bottle. Nice big head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma is powerful with chocolate. Taste is coffee and chocolate. radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 31, 2006
500ml bought at ISO in Copenhagen, Denmark. Deep brown in colour, good sized tan head, good retention, some lacing. The aroma is malty - bittersweet chocolate - some coffee, brown sugar, small roast, nice sweetness. The flavour is of freshly roasted coffee, nice chocolate malt sweetness, some licorice. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a long chocolate sweetness. A nice stout, good and sweet, light. Dalle (1145) - Skørping, DENMARK - FEB 12, 2004
Black (thick looking!) colour with small head. Sweet, milk, little soapy, liqourice, thick. Quite a mouthfull considering only 5,5%ABV. joergen (28159) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2004
Dark, almost black colour with a small brown head. Sweet roasted aroma with notes of dried fruit, nuts and coffee. Intense flavour, with acidic and roasted/smokey notes. Well balanced bitterness.
