On tap. Pours an opaque black with a tiny off-white head - just a thin film really. Somewhat odd farty aroma, some sulphur and overripe fruit - not particularly roasty. Medium-bodied only, low in carbonation, roast and chocolate accents. Comes slightly tart with a distinct malty bitter finish. No real traces of the cherries - if not the tartness? Not overly hot really. 111112

Keg, half-pint, 10.5% abv, at King William IV brewpub. Rich lacework from a fading, tan coloured head. Devil black body. Aromatic with chocolate malts with semi-tart berries behind. Cocoa powder up front developing into a taste of dark fruits and anise offset by acid berries to the ending. Full bodied. Nice evening sipper in east London, 24.11.2012.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, cherries, cocoa beans, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, brettanomyces, lacto, and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

JanLaursen (3227) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 29, 2012
Draft at Mikkeller Bar. Pitch black with almost no head - but what is, is beige. Wonderful roasted nose of deep, dark powderish chocolate and very smooth, freshly grinded coffee notes with hints of fruity cherry. Taste follows the nose, smooth, creamy espresso-like with a dash of very fresh, lightly tart cherry-pie. Full body, flat carbonation and a perfectly well balanced bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Chopp. Pitch black colour, small brownish head, nice red brown hue. Sweet well roasted malty chocolate alco aroma with some cherry. Good sticky like mouthfeel. Lots of roasted malt in the flavour along with chocolate and some coffee, some cherry towards the finish. Bit acid like in the finsh, sweet. Quite pleasant.
