Clear mid brown with a good bubbly off white head that retains well.
Nose carries light hop tones, malt, Germoline, light metallicnotes.
Taste comprises light orchard fruit, biscuit malt, caramel, leafy hops.
Medium body, soft carbonation, bitterness and some hop presence in the finish.

Quite stodgy bitter aroma. Fuller in the mouth, cleaner and more distinct nutty and husky components. Woody finish, pretty solid. Nicely dry and very well attenuated. A touch of mushroom too just once or twice. but good nonetheless.

Cask at Cross Keys, Covent Garden. It pours clear brown with a medium off-white head. The nose is wood, grass, hay, caramel, dark fruit, varnish, touch of barnyard. The taste is wood, varnish, light astringency, nice bitterness, nut, hint of caramel, leaf, grass and hay with a dry, woody finish. Med body and soft carbonation. Good flavour and well balanced. [3/4/15] Cask at Cross Keys in London. Dark amber. Aroma of malt, toast and some hops. Sweetish malty flavor with a bit of toast and some bitterish hops. Easy-drinking.
