3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught @ Old Coffee House, 49 Beak Street, Soho, Greater London, England W1F 9SB.
Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, chocolate, coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, hoppy, licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Nice ;O)
Had on draft @ the Brewdog, Manchester .. . medium mouth .. tar, sweet tar, roast and light booze .. . cracking stuff! .. . easy but way to easy finish .. . hop level was mild .. . . Look, I know you’re 9 and I’m sorry I made you cry, but I simply don’t
fuck around when it comes to air hockey. That shit’s in my blood. Rasmus40 (21476) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - APR 29, 2013
Tap @ Old Coffee House, London. Black with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and rather hoppy - tropical fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. This is more imperial black IPA than imperial stout. 250413 MannyGoldberg (207) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Keg at Stormbird on 3rd March 2013. Didn't realise this was an imperial stout when I ordered it but turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Pours black with a bit of redness. Not much head but reasonable lacing. Lots of maltiness on
the nose with a strong traces of liquorice. Taste wise there's a fair blast of citrus from the Citra that endures just long enough to mask the alcohol. A nice amount of carbonation.

Cask @ Old Coffee House, Very very dark and opaque brown colour, aroma of pine, carob, soy and mollases, same traits in the flavour with the addition of some dark bread, medium bitterness and a light complementing sourness. I couldn’t detect the citra, but still an excellent balanced beer.

Keg @ The Old Coffee House. Deep brown with a modest tan head. The nose is mild citrus, some roasted coffee bean, general burnt wood flavors. Rich earth, some cocoa. The taste is more ash, burnt malts. Mild dark chocolate. Plenty of citrus, lemon. Nice hoppy profile. Long, robust finish. Very easy drinking considering the ABV. Overall, a really nice beer from Brodies. Theydon_Bois (20225) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2013
Cask at the Old Coffee House, split with Chris, Jan and Charlotte, 18/01/13.
Mid black with a thin tan head that clears to the edge.
Nose carries roast malt, molasses, toffee, smokey gammon, touch of chocolate.
Taste comprises roast malt, chocolate, hop presence, light pine, smoked pork, barley.
Full end of medium body, slightly prickly carbonation which is a let down for me, some hop biterness in the dry finish.
Ok but not top draw! Svesse (8694) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 7, 2013
(Draught at King William IV, Leyton, London, 22 Nov 2012) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit, coffee and a touch of brett. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, grapefruit, resin, pine needles, a touch of chocolate and a generous piney, resinous bitterness in the finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness. I wouldn’t call it balanced or subtle, but it’s really nice in moderate amounts. JohnRMurdoch (4986) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - JAN 5, 2013
Keg @ BrewDog. Almost black colour, reasonable head. Hoppy treacle malt aroma. Sour milky citrus hop flavour. Smooth texture, sharp bitter aftertaste. Quite sharp & citrusey for an imperial stout. teorn88 (7682) - Rimini, ITALY - JAN 3, 2013
On tap at Brewdog Shoreditch. It pours an almost black colour with light tan head. Roasty notes, with chocolate, alongside pineapple and hops in the nose. Roast and chocolate in the taste as well, hoppy and fruity. Easy drinkable as you don’t taste the ABV at all. Tasty.
