Scopey (14723) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 18, 2011
Keg at Mason & Taylor (7% and named Dalston Black IPA). It pours very dark brown, with a ruby tinge and a thick creamy beige head. The nose is charcoal, resin and aniseed. The taste is resin, wood, charcoal, burnt caramel, salted liquorice, well hidden alcohol, roasted malt and a touch of smoke, with a big bitter-dry finish. Full body, fine carbonation and good balance. Really tasty stuff.

imdownthepub (14552) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2012
Cask conditioned at The King William IV, Leyton, London. Black with tan head. What a way to finish off a long, long day. Full of fruity alcohol, bitter, hoppy with a citrus edge and roasty background. Quite a big and chunky beer, great.

bierkoning (13352) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - MAR 5, 2012
Cask @ ACBF 2012. Deep dark brown color. Sucade, plum and lots of dried fruit in the aroma. Harsh oily hopbitter flavor with lots of plums. Floral. Some question marks about the balance, but this is a delicious beer.

3.2
Rune (12753) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 6, 2012
Keg, as Black IPA, half-pint, in a very relaxing atmosphere sitting by the open fire place at the excellent King William IV in Leyton. Deep black body topped by a decent, creamy tan-coloured head. Solid artwork to the glass. Semi-tart berries and aniseed fruits to the nose. Flavoured with citrus fruits mixed with malty hints of liquorice, grain and chocolate. Rather too much of bitter tartness towards the ending. Good without being outstanding (Greater London, 24.11.2012).

3.7
Camons (12445) - Hasselager, DENMARK - SEP 23, 2013
Cask @ Old Coffee House, London. Pours dark brown with a offwhite head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, tropical fruits, grapefruit. Flavor is malts, coffee, dark chocolate, tropical fruit, citrus, grapefruit. Medium body, soft carbonation, light bitter finish. Good one. 170913
