Bottle. Jet Black in colour. Full flavoured stout. Very Malty; roasty/burnt malts, liquorice, lots of espresso coffee, some dark bitter chocolate. Hoppy; earthy hops. Quite dry throughout. Roast malty throughout with a bitter/sour hop/fruit edge. Lingering dry roasty finish. Decent. (2010-12)

Nice stuff from Brodie’s again here, this one opened up more hoppy than I’d been expecting & came through with some excellent tropical fruit flavours that you don’t normally associated with a beer named ’Jamaican Stout’. It was definitely a balanced offering with everything working well together, the sweetness in particular complimented the roasted malt bitterness well with this one; excellent stuff & a beer I wouldn’t mind having again.
Tasted this at the Old Coffee House, Soho, London on the 30th September 2016. Cask, handpump dispense. Dull black in colour with a thin pale buff head. Malty aroma with berry fruit coming through on the nose. Thin oily mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malt complex gives a maltloaf base with sweet notes of bramble fruit and black coffee evident. There is a slightly dry hop prickle present in the bitter aftertaste which is well balanced. Finish is malty with a slight sweet and sour note of pineapple coupled with dry hints of chicory, molasses and liquorice. A decent session stout. rlgk (18847) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 21, 2016

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Exploded out of the bottle and almost all of it ended up on the floor! Afterwards it is hazy black-brown in colour with no head. It has a rich chocolate and rum flavour followed by coffee, red fruit and spices on the smooth chocolate finish. Very good. MrTipple (4803) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2016

Bottle from beerhive. I'm going to have to try this again as a re-rate as this bottle was a total gusher. johndoughty (5403) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 5, 2016
Bottle.Black and a bit lively upon opening. After this it was all plane sailing. Lovely smooth and creamy flavour means that this is a delicious stout. the only thing that irritates me about this brewery is that there is no deScription of the beer on its label. In this case it should just say ’fantastic’
