Bottle. A black one, at least very dark brown. No head, just a few disappearing tan bubbles. The aroma has loads of wonderful mocha and coffee, with some bourbon and licorice. Dark dried fruits and some chocolate. It’s full to medium-bodied and pretty flat on the palate. Some alcohol warmth. The flavor has the same coffee domination, with some roasted malts and a touch of bourbon. A touch of cooked vegetables too. A pretty pleasant one, but lacking a bit to compete with the big guys. 131231

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, May 2013 consumed at home, Sunday 15th September 2013 Pours black with tan head. As the name suggests this does have a milkiness throughout, really pleasant. Smooth and easy drinking beer for the abv, the b/a is apparent but doesn’t intrude. This is a little chocolatey with some coffee but it is more that the creamy milkiness is the prominent characteristic here. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
