Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head.
Nose - mostly chocolate bit with a hint of roast coffee.
Taste - big coffee coming over the top of the chocolate and roast.
Palate - rich and full bodied. Creamy throughout with just enough dry malt on the finish to make you want more.

Keg at The Hop Inn, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. A black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, espresso, chocolate, some dark fruits, slight caramel, a hint of lactose, a little soy sauce and subtle tobacco. Taste of roasted malts, espresso, dark chocolate, some caramel, slight lactose, a little dark fruits, a hint of tobacco and subtle umami. Full bodied and moderate carbonation. A long, slightly sweet, roasted coffee bitterness in the finish. I like this because as it’s got a superb espresso and dark chocolate bitterness and also sweetness from the lactose and the caramel running through this beer. Tap. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. More or less black. Huge, bubbly, glossy topped, tan head. Looks like a wrong way round Crunchie. Nose has fruity coffee grinds. Chocolate ice cream. Some woody, well roasted malts. Some blackcurrant hop. Sweet vanilla. Smells great. Taste is dark chocolate bitter. Chewy, vanilla sweet. Smooth mouthfeel. Drinks well under the ABV. Gets vinous and roast coffee bean bitter toward the end. Very nice.

Intense filter coffee, sweet milk chocolate, light molasses, dry cacao. Hazy, dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Medium sweet. Sweet caramel, milk chocolate, mocha, sweet molasses continue throughout intense the finish, sticky texture, full bodied. Backlog rating. Keg at KWIV, Bunny Basher 2014, London. It pours a deep brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is roasty, nutty, caramel, with notes of cocoa and lactose. Taste is medium sweet and lightly dry and powdery with roasted malts, lactose, toffee. Overall, nice enough sweet stout
