Dec 2012 - draught Hackney. £5 for a half pint. At over 12% and whisky matured, this was always going to be intense. Quite a smooth mouthfeel with a big smokey whisky flavour. Flavour is nice enough but it’s a heavy, nauseating beer. downender (8658) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2013
On tap at Brewdog Bristol, 7/1/2013. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of peat, dark berry fruits and coffee with a touch of caramel. Flavour was sweet, which balanced the peat notes and led to a warming finish. Very good. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 22, 2012
On tap. Pours an opaque black with a tiny beige head. Sweet overripe pruney nose with a whiff of iodine. Full-bodied, a little low in carbonation, subtle roast, again quite some overripe dark fruit and a little ashes and smoke. Malt bitter finish and also some warming alcohol. For an Islay beer this is not that bad. 111112 77ships (9827) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 9, 2012
I ordered Romanov Bourbon BA but there were so many Islay notes and he looked a bit not certain when tapping - I am certain that this entry belongs here. 1/2 Pint Draft @ King William IV. Pitch black, small but stable mocha head. Smell is a bit sweet blend of peat, lots of it, dark earthed, bit rough, creamy coffee, milk chocolate and small touch of salt. Taste is sweet creamy, coffee, roasted malts followed by lots of peat, light salt, medicinal hint, milk chocolate, light bitter roast, smoke, lightly bitter and a miniral finish. Quite creamy, not the easiest beer to drink a half pint of but then again I saw people doing pints of this.

Tap take over at Mikkeller Bar. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of licorice, hard roasted malt and some peat smoke. Sweet, roasted malty flavour with a bit of peat smoke Martinhfp (61) - DENMARK - NOV 10, 2012
Served Mikkeller bar, copenhagen. Aroma very sweet plums, english liquorice and raisins. Dark beer wirh no head. Taste of raisins plums frits, dark malts with sweet malts, hot alcohol, not much aroma hops. This was lagered on whiskey barrels and this brought the beer lots of smoke tastes.
