Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear golden colour with q thin white head. Aroma of green hops, lemon, some melon, a little passion fruit, subtle toasted malts and herbal, grassy hops. Taste of lemon, melon, slight peach, a little passion fruit, subtle crackery malt and herbal, grassy hops. Light bodied and a slightly oily texture. A dryish, herbal, grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Great hop character in this, subtle hop bitterness but well balanced. Pleasant. BlackHaddock (7586) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2013
Hand-pulled pint in Brodies ’King William 1V’ on 16 Feb 2013.
Light amber/old gold in colour with a thin white covering of bubbles.
Mildly citrus in the nose and flavour with a malty backbone.
I thought the body a bit watery and thin.
I’m not sure about Brodies beers: they don’t seem to ’hit the mark’ with me. Spc (6) - - MAR 8, 2013 does not count
New to beer rating normally wine. Had at the excellent Southampton arms 8th feb 2013 so for me delicate nose. Taste :slow on the attack then light tangerine on the mid palate then Omg a tidal wave of grapefruit to a searing finish. Hold on tight. Awesome. Like a top Albariño ! Great work brodies as ever. imdownthepub (15161) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2013
Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest ’13. Orange Gold with white head. Light, hoppy, flowery beer with a hint of peach, quite dry and bitter, refreshing too. Lasting, really pretty good.
