The Moose’s Tooth Brewery serves the best pizza in town, along with some of the most amazing beer. This brown is one of my favorites anywhere.

On draft at the brewpub 7/6/05: Shiny red/brown. Thin bodied, but the crisp and bitter flavors make up for it. Nice woody/nutty tones. Very good.

4oz pour at the brew pub. Awesome! Poured a dark ruby, fine tan head, light chocolate malt aroma, rich malt flavor, lots of chocolate, slightly sweet, rich and chewy chocolate, an excellent chocolate porter disguised as a brown ale. Pretty darn good.

aracauna (3599) - Georgia, USA - JUN 25, 2005
Clear, dark ruby brown with ok head. The aroma is full, rich and malty. Actually a touch roasty. This could pass for a stout or robust porter in the flavor (although lighter than the best of those styles). The body is a little light, especially given the flavor.

On tap at the pub. Reddish brown color with a thin beige head. Nose of sweet brown sugar and dark grains. Very smooth beer with brown sugar sweetness and some burnt caramel. Easy drinking brown ale and good with the pizza.

Draft: Poured a brown with red edges, the head was off white. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Taste sweet caramel very malt.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a semi-dark brown color with some red hues along the sides. A finger’s worth of white foamy head started and died off at a fairly nice pace. Messy lace. The aroma had some chocolate, sweet and somewhat milky, with a mild bready malt with some dark fruits and a touch of earthy hops. The flavor keeps the same previously mentioned aromas to hit a nice blend into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with fair sessionable sort of smooth milky/creamy feel. Decent carbonation. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, good brown ale worthy of having again.

savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUN 27, 2009
On tap @ the brewpub. Brown with a small tan head. Roasty malt aroma with hints of smoke and caramel. Sweet flavor and a bitterness from the roasted grains. Medium body, smooth mouth feel with an average carbonation. This is an easy drinker.

DarkElf (3062) - La Jolla, California, USA - SEP 1, 2004
(Draft: Moose’s Tooth Brewing Company in Anchorage AK) Malty, lightly dark roasted and mildly sweet, but with moderate bitterness for good balance; The nose is malty and lightly sweet; Medium bodied; Medium brown color; Light tan head is sizeable on the pour and has fairly good retention, maintaining a thin layer for quite some time; Some patchy lacing left on the glass
