Flavor is roast and chocolate malt, prunes, coffee, light earthy hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation. Palate: some sweets coming up, nice, toasted malts, some coffee again, lightly dry finish. Overall: nice Stout, well-balanced. Roasty-toasty stout with some nice and wholesome flavors. Lots of sweet tar and creamed espresso. Lesser notes of chocolate. Moderate bitterness as well, but the sticky, dark-roasted malts take the stage. Body seemed like it was on the thin side. Solid stout, nonetheless. On tap at Moose’s Tooth, Anchorage. Deep garnet/red-brown body, thin tight tan head. Roasted malt nose with light bitterness and modest coffee. Creamy body dominated by roasted malts, chocolate, and dark chocolate; soft with light sweetness and a bitter, roasty finish. Little acidity. Quaffable.
