Growler from the pun. Pours black with a medium tan head. Has a nice malty aroma. Full bodied taste and just the right amount of hops to balance it out. Top notch stout.

PorterPounder (8396) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 4, 2004
Had on tap at the brewpub. Dark, licorice-like appearance, thick mocha colored head with good lacing. Bittersweet chocolate flavor with some sweet licorice accents. Thick, silky mouthfeel. All in all, a very good brewpub stout.

Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - AUG 9, 2011
Roasty-toasty stout with some nice and wholesome flavors. Lots of sweet tar and creamed espresso. Lesser notes of chocolate. Moderate bitterness as well, but the sticky, dark-roasted malts take the stage. Body seemed like it was on the thin side. Solid stout, nonetheless.

2008-09-06. Pitch black body with a modest tan head. (4+) Mild roasty malt aroma. Flavour is fairly sweet, light roast malt is pervasive but surprisingly not assertive. Smooth average plus palate is light for a stout. (3+) Decent, but I preferred the porter I think. On tap at the brewpub.
