Bottle 33cl, a clear copper beer with medium head. Nose is on grain and hay. Aroma is on orange, candied orange, blond caramel, touch of diacetyl, wet paper, very boring, industrial like, poor.

GoufCustom (1977) - HONG KONG - JAN 2, 2017

330 ml bottle bought at Wiselects booth at HKCEC in Wan Chai during The 14th Hong Kong Food Festival.

Looks: Clear golden colour; Less than one-quarter finger head with residual soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Fair sticky lacing and barely notable slight carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant Pils malt, with candied fruits, lychee, rambutan, light grapefruits, wood, honey, floral, light spices, bread, lemon and grass.

Taste: Close to medium sweet Pils malt, with lychee, grapefruits, tropical fruits, strong floral, honey, light biscuits, strong lemon, strong bitter hops and sharp grass.

Body: Close to light body. Dry and slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Quite solid Pils maltyness in a thin but slick background. Strong fruity hops dominates as in lychee, strong tropical fruits and fair grapefruits. Strong floral with honey-ish sweetness, light bready with strong lemon to round. Very nice!

Hoppiness: Candied fruits, lychee, rambutan, light grapefruits, wood, floral, spices, lemon and grass in nose. Lychee, grapefruits, tropical fruits, strong floral, strong lemon and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent sweet-bitter finish.

After Taste: Dry. Fruity, grassy and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one is much more than a Pale Lager - a dry-hopped Pilsener to be precise, with solid Pils maltyness, very strong hoppiness in nice sweet tropical fruit aroma and taste, and topped with strong German hop bitterness. Only a lack of carbo holds it back somewhat but overall, a well-interpreted, very hoppy and sessionable Pils. Recommended!

Malty as required by the style but balanced with hops giving extra aroma to the overall impression. Very special.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2016 Clear golden with a small white and bubbly head. Aroma is floral, fruity and malty, very rich for a lager. Taste is where you understand that this is not an industrial lager: malts, hints of lemon, dry hops. Medium bitter, rich, medium bodied. A pretty good lager.

330ml bottle (Alus Tirgus, Riga). Clear pale golden color. Medium size, fluffy white head, stays. Malty, watery, minerals, hops in aroma. Sweet, hop pellets, malty, perfume in taste. Perfume in aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Really perfumey brew.

330ml bottle (Alus Tirus, Riga)
Pleasant fruity light hops initially, but a nice light bready graininess too - real barley there. Taste is amazingly soapy, in a bad way, and extremely medicinal. Otherwise watery palate, and the chemicals and soap make it harsh. Finish messy, a hodge-podge of beer ingredients, ulimately ill-integrated and unsatisfying. Dont like so much soap.

Bottled. A hazy yellow beer with a beige head. Thenaroma has notes of malt, straw, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and hops, leading to a bitter finish.
