UPDATED: APR 18, 2015 Different! Pour like a stout. Taste like an IPA lite / dark (latter due to color). Some chocolate/coffee taste, but I taste a bit of "hoppiness". Little bitter after taste. Lubiere (13905) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 28, 2014
A dark brown ale with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice coffee and chocolate malt resinous hops, well done. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with grassy notes , coffee, interesting and smooth. On tap at Empire Brewfest 2014. pilgrimoutlaw (888) - Wayne, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2014
Bottle pours dark reddish black with tan head. Roast, citrus, caramel. Moderately bitter. Light crisp body. jflopsu (1614) - New Jersey, USA - APR 5, 2014
Pours a dark black with thick light brown head. Has a strong stout aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste is strong with cocoa, coffee, grains and a hint of hops. A light bitter aftertaste. BLADT (700) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - APR 5, 2014
From tap. Straight black in glass. Nose is dominated by the malts. Some cocoa. Starts like a stout, but moves into vaguely citric hop territory. Chalky.

On tap at Murray’s Cheese Bar. Pretty black in colour, with a creamy beige head. This is basically a hoppy stout, tastes like there’s some dark and dirty bitter roasty grains in there, coffee and burnt toast, then a strong hop bitterness with just a hint of some New World fruitiness. Very solid stuff. DrinkinWell (389) - - MAR 27, 2014
Pours a translucent gold with medium head and lacing. Beautiful aromas--floral notes, incense (as another reviewer noted), honeysuckle. Tastes sweet, with tangy notes as well. An interesting ale. rcasta (864) - EL SALVADOR - MAR 18, 2014

Not cask, Amsterdam Ale House, UWS, 18/02/14.
Neapolitan and black jack aroma; incense, coffee, soft and attractive roast. Solid, lingeringly nutty high cocoa and espresso notes; coal and flowers, a glug of tonic. High condition approaching soda fizz. Black with a thick but dissipating tan collar. Tasty. TylerGreenDC (953) - - FEB 8, 2014
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2014 On draft. Beautiful coffee-colored head, aroma of toast and chocolate. Flavor of french roast coffee, some chocolate, maybe some burnt nuts. Less hoppy than a lot of black IPAs, but probably better for it?
