COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2013 A: chocolate and coffee. A: very dark with a huge khaki head that takes a while to settle. Decent lacing left on the glass. T: chocolate, roasted malts and alcohol. The warmth of the alcohol gets more intense as the beer itself warms P: for an imperial its kind of medium bodied, not as thick as others. O: decent Imperial Stout. Glad I tried it.

A truly world class classic. Intense roasted and dar chocolate aromas, following in the taste. Creamy mouthfeel and a long aftertaste evolving from the chocolaty bitternes to a semisweet feeling.

Bottle from Julios. Pours out jet black with a frothy dark tan head that settles to a thin lace. Sweet earthy aromas. Lots of chocolate and sweet plum notes. Dry cocoa texture. Somewhat fruity in the middle. Heavy body. Lingering bittersweet finish. Not nearly as smooth and refined as some other imperial stouts Ive had recently.
