This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

smells of chocolate and liquoriche poured really dark, with virtuately no head, like crude oil taste was wonderful, stouty chocolate all the way though, sweet and bitter at the same time, like dark chocolate thick and full mouthfeel, lovely really indulgent and looks, feels and tastes like the luxury it is! my favorite so far

Chocolate flavor is present, bold and rich but it didn’t over power the beer. Great taste all around.

Bottle at home with herself listening to records. The last of our Christmas beers (blimey kept until May). Jet black and scent of treacle. Quite bitter with whiskey finish. Merry Christmas y’all. (2015/16 bottled version)

35,5cl bottle purchased @ La caisse de bières.Belle robe noire avec fine mousse brune. Attaque café, chocolat noir amer et malt torréfié. Belle fin liquoreuse.

Bottle. Winter 10-11. Pours pitch black with almost not head. Nose is rich chocolate. Dark fudge. Light tobacco. Some faint dried fruit character. Taste is chocolate, light coffee. A touch thin seeming but I think it might be slight oxidation. Finish is clean, dry. For the age this had held up pretty damn well.

Bottle from systembolaget. Very yummy. Spicy after finish, sweet and bitter at same time. The first strong stout ive really enjoyed at this strength. Very decent!!

Bottle from Beerhawk. Nose of dark dusty chocolate, roasted coffee beans, gentle booziness and a bit of licorice. Almost black appearance with thin light tan head. Flavour adds a touch of ash with a bitter boozy front. It has a soft body but then a rather off putting prickly sharp low fizz introduces itself. It gets better as it settles. Taste has a lot more alcohol than the nose. A roasty stout which is fine but let down by the peculiar fizzy body.

Smak melkesjokolade, bringebær, tropisk frukt, kaffe, alkohol. Sjokolade og bar i starten går via bær og kaffe over i sjokolade igjen i avslutningen. Alkoholsmaken er tilstede. Dette er godt og kraftig øl. ---

The taste of alcohol gets thru (in the aftertaste). Very price worthy indeed. The taste is better than the palate (because of the aftertaste). Nice with strong Italian cheese (dry Parmesan).
