This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

smells of chocolate and liquoriche poured really dark, with virtuately no head, like crude oil taste was wonderful, stouty chocolate all the way though, sweet and bitter at the same time, like dark chocolate thick and full mouthfeel, lovely really indulgent and looks, feels and tastes like the luxury it is! my favorite so far

Aroma; dark fruits, fermented prunes, dark chocolate and confectionery, juicy liquorice, whisky notes, bread yeast notes, cream, very inviting. Look; beige head, black body, blanket lacing. Taste; black chocolate, sweet liquorice, dark fruits, cocoa n prunes, nuts, confectionery, whisky notes - warming fully confectionerish finish. Feel; gentle, good body, pleasant. Overall; full taste, full pleasure. [35.5cl.btl 10% -winter2016edition- B@Vinmonopolet]

1 finger, light tan head. Deep, dark dark brown coloured beer. Aroma is full of dark fruits. Raisins, dates, along with coffee, liquorice and a red berry/ vinous fruitiness to it. Hint of dark chocolate at the end. Taste is very oaty with prominent coffee and dark, bitter chocolate. Hints of the dark fruits at the back. Some sort of weird off-taste is putting me off. Thin and light for the ABV. Overall, nothing to write home about. Had heard such good things about this one but if feels more like a light Porter than a homage to the lovely RIS due to the thinness and the short taste. I have another bottle and I hope there was just something wrong with this one.

I got this beer on a recommendation. Its really good, and tasted great with a good burger and salad. Oh, and with 10% alcohol packs a nice punch.

Malts, chocolate and roasty hints of coffee. Velvety smooth, slightly syrupy, satisfying medium body. Surprising amount of bitterness balance the sweetness well. Delicious! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is top notch. Lots of chocolate nose and chocolate flavor. Bitterness builds huge if not drinker slowly. Very slow head. Wow nice ris. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A truly world class classic. Intense roasted and dar chocolate aromas, following in the taste. Creamy mouthfeel and a long aftertaste evolving from the chocolaty bitternes to a semisweet feeling.
