COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Malts: Scottish Floor-malted Maris Otter, German Pilsner Malt

Hops: Willamette, Magnum, Cascade, Fuggle, Aurora, Zythos, Bravo, Simcoe, Sorachi Ace, Amarillo, Experiment 6300

Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 8, 2005
(On tap) Slightly hazy, pale amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving some very neat lacework in my glass. Distinct, oily hop aroma. Fruity, slightly caramelish sweetness, but mainly dominated by the aroma hops which only are pleasant, not overly bitter. Dry, hoppy finish. Really hope that Brooklyn will bottle this at some stage. 291005

Leicht trübes orangegelbes Bier mit ordentlicher leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hopfig malzig, reife Früchte, exotische Früchte. Geschmack sehr kräftig malzig, sehr fruchtig, reifes Obst, kaum bitter, minimal alkoholisch.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2011 Had a sample at the Great World Beer Festival. Big beer here. Strong hop aroma, notes of pine. Taste is lightly tangy and bitter, like grapefruit. Finish is clean. I had another try of this at The Diamond recently and noted: "Fresh, very floral, very sweet. Some caramel, slight grass. Full bodied with average carbonation. Bit of stickiness to finish. Very clean. Solid." I gave it the same rating, 3.8. I like it when I blindly stay consistent.

Clear orange with a white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and rather hoppy - flowers and grass. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. Good balance. Poured by Garrett Oliver at the Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. 070510

Deutlich hopfiger Antrunk, bei dem die Trockenheit nicht stört. Blumig, bitter grasig mit Alkoholtouch. Etwas klebrig, frisch hopfig genau im richtigen Maße. Gutes IIPA! 11/12/12/12//12

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2007
Hazy golden color; creamy head. The aroma is very fruity (hops), and resiny, with Fuggles aroma too. Good body strength, malty, a lot of sugars. Extreme hopping (bitter, fruity, resiny…). One more hop juice. Excellent.

Keg at the Bottle Shop, Bermondsey, on my 40th crawl 11/10/14. Lightly hazed golden orange with a decent beige covering that retains well. Nose is caramel malt, bread dough, spice, bitter orange, light tropicana. Taste comprises bitter tropicals, light pine, orange pith, grapefruit, caramel malt, mandarin, candied fruit peel. Medium + body, fine carbonation, lightly warming booze in the close. Ok DIPA, hides the ABV fairly well, not one I’d rush back to though - kind of a safe bet offering, this Bois prefers more hoppage!

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2010 Draught at Charlie’s. Huge head with excellent duration. Hazy golden color. powerful aroma with lots of hops and fruit! Taste is likewise. Rerated as sample at Copenhagen beerfestival. Nice head with good duration. Color is folden. Aroma and taste are rich hops, elderflowers, citrus and malt.

Cask at GBBF 08. Clear copper with thin white head. Aggressive hop aroma. OK in mouth, some alcohol sweetness, lots of bitter hop on end. Hops are hot and good, but not sure the rest holds it up. Some good lime. It’s ok, if a bit harsh.
