[At Fynske Øldage 2005] A hazy orange beer with a nice off-white head. The aroma is quite hoppy with flowery and grassy notes, while the flavor is sweet and quite hoppy combined with some notes of grass and fruit - I’m thinking grapefruit. Nice not too overwhelming double IPA - though it is not listed as such. Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 8, 2005
(On tap) Slightly hazy, pale amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving some very neat lacework in my glass. Distinct, oily hop aroma. Fruity, slightly caramelish sweetness, but mainly dominated by the aroma hops which only are pleasant, not overly bitter. Dry, hoppy finish. Really hope that Brooklyn will bottle this at some stage. 291005 ukoolaid (580) - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 30, 2006
On tap @ Red Bones. Pours a cloudy orange amber with off-white head. Aroma is very hoppy with light citrus. Taste is very hoppy with out being too bitter. Citrus, grassy. It’s good. wnhay (722) - Princeton, New Jersey, USA - OCT 7, 2006
Poured light amber with a thick off white head in the sampler glass. Hints of orange, citrus, graitfruit, caramel and currant were in the aroma. Taste was dominated by orange complimented by the citrus, and graitfruit. This was quite malty and not quite hoppy enough for me. That being said it was a very good beer. Sampled at Real Beer Expo (Rochester). Cask. Med. golden with a slight haze and no head. Lots ofhops on the nose: floral and citrus. Esters (pear, pineapple, tropical fruit). Med. carbonation and med. body. Sweet malt, citrusy hops up front. Pineapple, blood oranges, and tropical fruits follow. Good stuff. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - OCT 26, 2006
GABF 2006: Clear light golden color with off-white head. Hop foward aroma of pine and citrus with a good malt base. Again flavor pine and citrus with a malt back bone stiff enough to balnce the beer. Ty5592 (1018) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 7, 2006
Draft at drafting room. Yellow with fruity hop aroma. The taste was very interesting, grapefruit, pine, champage grapes and mildy sweet. Good lacing. Dry finish. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 14, 2006
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2009 In short: Well malted body, citrusy and pine-cone tree hops, very bitter, clean and crisp. Another archetypical American IPA.Sammy (12610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 4, 2007
How: Re-rate for a tap glass directly at the brewery
The look: Clear golden body topped by a long-lasting medium off-white head
In long: Nose is a mix of pine-tree, citrusy and earthy hops. Well malted body. Half caramel, half honey, no sugary notes. Well balanced. Lots of hops with a citrusy, pine-cone and spicy character. Quite bitter and pleasantly dry. Very good beer. This was a great experience to be able to drink that beer fresh while visiting the brewery, I had a Blast.
On cask at Blind Tiger, this was a top-performing double IPA. Very smooth bitterness. Hop aroma, light colour.
