Pours brown (obviously) with thick tan head. Malty scent and flavor. Has a slight spicyness w/ a candyish sweet background. Creamy body with a nice dry mouthfeel in the finish. Decent brown ale.

Dark brown-red colour with small brownish head. Fresh nutty aromas with caramel and toffee tones. Taste is sweet at first, then transforms into a slight bitterness with nutty feel.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Brown colour. Week fruity aroma. Light acetic/bitter taste. Watery palate. I really dont think this is a very good brown ale. But it is still an ok beer.

Dark, almost red.Rich brew, full of taste, far beyond the brown ale from Newcastle. Brown bread, coffee, dark chocolate all rounded up by dry hops.

Pours a dark brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma is of caramel, chocolate, roasted malts, sweet malts, and a hint of hops. Flavor starts off with the caramel and sweet malts and give way to the roasted malts and chocolate. The finish is a touch bitter with hops but not too much.

12oz - Best before 8/05 so Im 10 months past due - Aroma is of roasted nutty malts. Pours brown with huge creamy head and great sticky lacing. Flavor is also nutty and roasty with a bit of hops showing up. Palate is sticky. Pretty tasty brown but I wonder if freshness would help it any?

A very good brown ale! Draught, delivered to the table with a nice foamy white head and a deep brown/umber body. Quite balanced, none of that burned malt taste that some examples of the style incorporate. THe only complaint is that it was a little dry, but still very drinkable.

Bottle: chocolate, copper, and a little smokiness. Nutty. Not overly carbonated. Brewed to style very well. A good session ale.
