This is exactly what I envision a brown ale should taste like. It is thick, creamy and malty. The ale is nice and hoppy and pours a nice happy brown color. So far, this is my favourite of the Brooklyn beers that I have tried. emacgee (4711) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - OCT 24, 2006
Poured a dark, ruby red brew. The head was medium, tan, and frothy. The aroma was light, spicy, and sweet. The taste was sweet, with hints of molasses. The palate was thin and crisp. The finish was slightly hoppy. Borup (15943) - Albertslund, DENMARK - OCT 24, 2006

Bottle. Dark brown with tan head. Flavor starts malty and creamy, with dry finish. boring. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - OCT 19, 2006
Draft, this is an excellent brown. Aroma choclate and a bit roasty, with a hint of hop bitterness. Full flavors of chocolate, coffee, yet still within the typical flavor profile of a good brown ale, not a porter at all. Shockingly hoppy finish for a brown, some nice pine notes and distinct bitterness, maybe a hint of grapefruit. Really a very nice brown.
