COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Bottle. Clear amber colour with nice big, light brown, creamy head that stays till the end. Strong hoppy aroma, rather typical for IPA beers. It looks like mixing grapefruit with chocolate, nuts and caramel. Taste is sweet at first and than turns into a moderate bitter aftertaste with long finish duration.

Dark brown. Chocolate and light roast in the aroma. Light malt flavour with notes of chocolate and a bit of acidity. Somewhat dry taste with a dry and lightly bitter finish. Medium body, watery texture and prickly carbonation. Overall, a boring brown ale. Decent aroma and nice colour, but there is not a whole lot of flavour here.

Some chocolate and orange in the aroma. Light burnt notes, dry and no sweetness. Hops are discreet. Nice brown ale

From a bottle. Very nice aroma and smooth on the palate. Finish is reminiscent of outdoor griddle pancakes with real, homemade maple syrup. Smooth finish, not crisp, lingers just enough.

07/10/16. Brooklyn event at Wine Rack, West Byfleet. Strong malt and dried fruit aroma. Dark brown. Healthy beige head. Chocoate caramel and nuts, with a sour edge. Medium bodied, full mouthfeel. I like.

Originally rated on 12/7/08. B.B. poured a deep mohogany body with a thin off white cap, not much lace left on my glass. Aromas of molasses, caramel malts, and a little chocolate. Flavors were similar to aromas, nice balance of bitterness and sweetness with a slight hop bite. Overall it was a pretty good beer.

Tap at Cottonwood - dark brown with mahogany edges, frothy light beige head, very laced. Aroma of coffee, mocha, roasted nuttiness. Smooth, somewhat creamy mouthfeel, sweet nuttiness, earthiness. Good take on the style.
