Pours with a nice tight bubbled head that lasted for about 1/3 of the glass. Aroma is nice with hints of chocolate, toffee and lightly roasted malts. I get a nice malty hit followed by a spicy, herbal and slight citrus hop flavour then with a bit of lingering chocolate at the very end. Overall enjoyable beer with an nteresting hop flavour.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2017 The longer I spent with brooklyn's brown ale the more it grew on me, as the caramel malts and nutty overtones grew out of the thickness. However, the bottle basically exploded on me when I opened it, which was great fun.

Coffee toffee malt butter cocoa all in there. Bottled frothed air when opened so i feared a bad one but ok. Chocolatey texture and winey finish too with raisins.

355 ml. bottle @ Home. Aroma: not very intense aromas of toasted malts, caramel, dried fruits, biscuits, bread crust. Burnt caramel overtones. No hints of hops. Appearance: deep brown color without hazyness with reddish and deep copper highlights. Light brown head. Medium to high head thickness. Low to medium retention. Medium Brussels’ lacing. Creamy head made of tiny bubbles. A one finger layer of foam remains over the beer. Taste: medium to high sweetness, low bitterness, no sourness. Quite intense and good flavors of malts, toasted malts, dried fruits, caramel, nutty and walnut flavors, biscuits, bread crust. Balance is on the sweet side. Not very noticeable hops’ flavors. Very complex flavors of malts with many layers of flavors. Palate: light to medium body, watery to oily texture, very low carbonation, quite long slightly bitter finish of toasted and roasted malts, caramel, biscuit, dried fruits, nuts, walnut. A little bit of astringency. Overall: very good appearance, faint aromas but pleasant, quite intense and pleasant flavors of toasted malts, caramel, nuts, walnut, biscuit, bread crust. No much hop flavors nor aromas. Good brew.
