Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

A very dark cloudy brown with a thin head. Great nutty flavour with a smooth mouth feel, well carbonated. A very nice beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lively brown ale, off-white head. Caramel, cocoa and raisins in the aroma. Flavour is rich and malty, with some fruit and chocolate and toffee. A touch of bitter, maybe citric, hop in there as well and that aspect of it lingers too. Quite an interesting mix of things going on here.

Keg at ECBF. Nose is dry caramel, tastes similar, nutty, light, quite basic brown.

On tap @ Edinburgh Beer Festival. An acceptable ale which isnt sweet enough to tire and decently refreshing but really nothing to seek out.

From the bottle, this refined brown ale pours an appealing semi-opaque amber-brown chestnut color with a crisp white foamy head, looks rather hearty. Aroma is a uniquely complex malty profile, notes of caramel toffee, cocoa, other roasty malt notes. Taste follows as a thoroughly toasted palate of caramel malty flavors, predominantly of toffee I would say. Some mild hoppy notes, but the malt nuances do the heavy lifting. Medium-bodied and smooth, but not as creamy as advertised. Overall still an excellent display of the wide range of flavors that can be gleaned from malt alone.

Mild, malty, toffee-like aroma. Similar on the taste, though a bit watery. A good "starter" brown ale.

355ml bottle. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a small tan head. Nose is caramel, chocolate, eye, nutty and a sweet citrus hoppiness. Silky smooth and a nice medium body. Taste is very rich, chocolate, caramel, brown bread, walnuts and a nice bitter finish. Slightly floral in the bitterness with some orange and lemon peel. Lovely.

God og velsmagende brown ale. Tilpas med sødme og bitterhed. Rimelig frisk i smagen.

Cerveza oscura color marrón rojizo con ligera espuma beige y poca retención. Aromas a café, caramelo y malta tostada. En boca predomina el sabor a malta tostada, cítricos y lúpulo. Tiene un leve amargor balanceado con final dulce y sabores a frutos secos. Cuerpo ligero, carbonatación baja y poco alcohólica.

Bottle from Netto 15DK. Dark brown, thin tan head. Delicious malty aroma: Caramel, rye bread. Taste: Dark bread, semi burned caramel - taste is a bit too anonymous for me. Texture is waterish.

I bought this beer in one Coop in Lausanne, in promotion. I drank it today at home, peacefully. I was pleasantly surprised about this beer and until now it is the best one that I tried from this brewery. The body is black/brown, thin foam, normal carbination. The taste is what you could expect from a brown ale, sweet, malty, toffee, some hop, really pleasant at the mouth, good job.
