On tap at The Old Toad’s New Brew - New York night. Wow, alot going on here, very complex. The hops, malt(not much malt) citrus, lots of spices, pepper stands out. The alcohol also stands out. One2remeber (253) - Bucktown, Ohio, USA - SEP 22, 2013
Bubble gum, soapy, phenolic. Zesty, orange.
Big bubblegum, mild body. More spice than normal. Barnyard hay, rougher malt.
Smooth, zesty, light CO2. Nice American interpretation of style. hopdog (13267) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 22, 2013
On tap at Eulogy. Poured a hazy yellow color with a smaller sized head. Yeast, some citrus, spices, herbal, and fruity. HeadyDE (885) - Delaware, USA - SEP 21, 2013
Sample pour..interesting story on card..stuff about the spice hunter and kaffir lime leaves..apparently a mysterious brew that I found to be a nice take on a Belgian ale..didn’t find the spices too harsh and reminded of some saison characteristics..happy to have had chance to try..medium bodied.. b3shine (9281) - Indiana, USA - SEP 19, 2013
Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks solid; a fairly transparent golden orange with foamy off-white head. Smells of Belgian yeast and spices. Tastes like it smells, only less robust and balanced. Average on e palate. Okay beer, but not by Belgian Strong Ale standards.

Cloudy gold, fine offwhite bubbles. Nose of spicy Belgian yeast, very banana forward, cream, toasty sugar. Taste of banana, estery Belgian yeast, cream, so yeast forward it’s hard to detect other flavors. Effervescent. Luckily I like bananas. alexsdad06 (11243) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - SEP 18, 2013
Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, bubblegum, some spices, light peppery, yeast, mild lemon/lime character. Nice drinking beer. Of the three sampled, the best of the afternoon. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 15, 2013
On tap. Almost entirely hazy amber orange color. Thin off-white head, with good retention. Leaves nice, thicker splotches of lace. Nice herbal and lime notes in the nose. Lighter belgian candy sugar, light citrusy hop. Very cool, complex tasty flavor combination. One of the more refreshing strong belgian ales I’ve tried. Bigger body. Nice, smooth more crisp lighter carbonation, with a more clean, lightly dry finish. Goes down easy compared to most belgian ales, not oversweet. Taste is moderate bitter, lighter spice, and just a little sweet, with some zest. Really enjoyable, easy drinking, tasty and refreshing belgian ale, all the way through. Exceeded expectations. Sample at Daily Growler. Pours a mostly clear amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of yeast, pepper and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of peppery yeast, herbal hops and fruit. The finish is herbal with a peppercorn aftertaste. Above average overall.
