COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once a "Ghost Bottle" that we only made for ourselves, Brooklyn Cuvée Noire finally journeys beyond our walls. A stout-like blend of German and British pale and dark malts, this beer fermented with Belgian yeast and then spends more than six months in Kentucky bourbon barrels. Dry, brisk, and complex, showing notes of chocolate, coffee, citrus, vanilla and coconut, Cuvée Noire is refermented in this bottle of Champagne yeast. It is a most excellent accompaniment means to dinner.

Pours black with massive tan head. Aroma of chocolate, figs, raisins, muscovado and butterscotch. Surprisingly mellow and sweet aroma for an imperial stout. Taste is sweet and sugary, with coffee and - again - butterscotch. Tastes more like an old ale than an imperial stout. Body is rich and creamy with soft carbonation. I know it says "Belgian stout" but, yeah, to me this is more like an old ale.

olsvammel (7220) - Örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 29, 2014
Sample at a Systembolaget tasting. Strong smell of caramelized sugar, nuts, chocolate, dark malts and a hint of coffee. Similar taste. There is an aroma in this that I can’t quite put in place. Could be viol or liqourice, something along those lines.
