COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once a "Ghost Bottle" that we only made for ourselves, Brooklyn Cuvée Noire finally journeys beyond our walls. A stout-like blend of German and British pale and dark malts, this beer fermented with Belgian yeast and then spends more than six months in Kentucky bourbon barrels. Dry, brisk, and complex, showing notes of chocolate, coffee, citrus, vanilla and coconut, Cuvée Noire is refermented in this bottle of Champagne yeast. It is a most excellent accompaniment means to dinner.

Luktar som julmust och rödvin. Liten hint av saltkola. Mycket kolsyra. Smaken är speciell. En sötma, bourbon vanilj, som försvinner i kolsyran, den slår sönder den. Kvar blir en lätt fadd alkoholsmak. Lite choklad. Som att det finns smaker som jag aldrig får känna. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Alengrin (5902) - BELGIUM - NOV 25, 2014
Luxury beer of limited production, tasted at the Horeca Expo Ghent. Moussy, light beige, creamy head, colour very dark ruby red, near black. Strong aroma of chocolate liqueur, congac, candied figs, vanilla, liquorice, Belgian chocolates, pipe tobacco, raisins, kahlua. Rich and delicious, thick and complex taste, sweet, candied fruits, vinous and thick mouthfeel, chocolatey with refined spiciness, woody accent, nutty, long and vinous, warming finish, malty with tannins and bourbon-like alcohol, roasted bitterishness and peppery hops. World class, if you ask me.

Pours black with massive tan head. Aroma of chocolate, figs, raisins, muscovado and butterscotch. Surprisingly mellow and sweet aroma for an imperial stout. Taste is sweet and sugary, with coffee and - again - butterscotch. Tastes more like an old ale than an imperial stout. Body is rich and creamy with soft carbonation. I know it says "Belgian stout" but, yeah, to me this is more like an old ale.
