No head, clear dark brown, looks very flat... huge vanilla bourbon nose, but a definite bland aroma underneath... a little lively on the tongue on the back end, flat up front... lots of lingering vanilla, not as bourbony as vanillay... dark fruits, not hoppy... very very good... medium full body, a little sticky as it goes... jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - OCT 25, 2010
22 oz bottle @Jimmack Invitational thanks Pat–pours a light tan ring for a head and brown color. Aroma is bourbon/wood, sweet medium/dark malt. Taste is bourbon/wood, sweet medium/dark malt, dark fruit. JK (6146) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - OCT 24, 2010
Brown and well carbonated. Moderate hops. The bourbon is there, but it complements the sweet malt, which is the primary character of this beer. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2010
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown body with a small wispy brown head. Roasty and bourbon laced nose with some moderate alcohol. The flavor is very chocolaty and roasty with pretty moderate bourbon flavor. Some nice light vanilla and char on the finish. Medium to full bodied with a touch of stickiness and soft fizzy carbonation. A little alcohol heat. Pretty nice beer, but not exceptional. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 24, 2010

On tap at KØ-10, poured by G.O. It’s a clear, brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Looking really nice. Typical brown ale aromas, with caramel and dried fruits. Not much impact from the barrels neither in aroma nor in the mouth. Caramel and lots of fruityness in the flavor, mostly of the dark, dried kind. Full-bodied and super-smooth in the mouth. Lasting finish with fruits and roasted malts. A really pleasant and balanced beer. 100507 maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 17, 2010

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2010 Sample at Jackie O’s BBDA and Oil of Aphrodite Release and Barrel aged Beer Festival on 9/11/10. Pours a murky deep brown color with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, oak and vanilla. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted malt, caramel, dark fruit and vanilla. The finish is roasty and woody with a dark malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall. Sample during Jackie O’s BBDA and Oil of Aphrodite Release and Barrel aged Beer Festival on 9/11/10. Dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Caramel malt nose with bourbon and fruit notes. Flavor starts with caramel and vanilla, then adds fruit and a bit of hop before a creamy finish. Still maintained a nice dryness and a bit of roastiness throughout that I wouldn’t have expected for the style.
