Keg Half Pint at White Horse American Beer Festival 2010, Parsons Green, London in July 2010 - Deep brown with reddish undertones. Vanilla-oak barrel aroma with hints of dark stone fruits. Very Fruity; raisins, prunes and black currant. Very Malty; sweet burnt caramel, chocolate malt, oak and vanilla notes. Hoppy; spicy and grassy hops. Yeasty. Sweet syrupy fruity spicy beer with rich flavours. Very drinkable. Decent. (2010-07)

750 ml bottle shared by eyedrinkale at Kuhnhenn in 08 and again from a growler picked up in Kentucky in 2010 from notes. Pours a hazy caramel brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, toffee, some toasted malt, stronger bourbon, a splash of vanilla and wood, a little funk, interesting. Writes east coast film critic and internet sensation James Berardinelli on his Reelviews website which he submitted in 1999 critiquing the direct-to-video release, Zombie! Vs. Mardi Gras that he couldn’t even give one star to Mike Lyddon, Karl DeMolay and Will Frank (all three wrote, produced and directed the film.) I’m about to make of those ugly statements, and although I don’t wish to come off as an asshole, this truly was one of the worst beers I’ve ever consumed. You could even say its smells and flavors offended me, because they had done it so well that I would gladly pour myself a Mississippi Mud just to get the taste out of my mouth from this beer. It’s like a skunked Newcastle brown with notes of artificial vanilla, refined sugar and soggy pretzels. The vanilla notes were honestly too much... can’t write anything more besides "too artificial and too sweet" pertaining to the vanilla. I get some tree bark by swallow but it’s brief and very weak. Thin as hell. I’m not biased, I just hated this.

Had this in tap at Busy Bee, Raleigh-Apr2010. I didn’t get much bourbon from this and tbh it would have been welcomed for better balance. This beer was not as expected. It was cloyingly sweet. found some old notes, served on tap. Dark brown color, can’t see through the liquid but it’s red up to the light, small head. Lots of dark fruits and oak to smell, rich roasty malts, some cola. Rich and flavorful taste of roasty malt, oak, vanilla. slightly sweet. lots of wood in the taste. Mouthfeel is super smooth with moderate carbonation. On tap at the blind tiger. Pours a nice mahogany brown with a decent head. Not much on the nose. Little bit of smoke and fat resembling deep fried aromas. Not liking the nose. Getting past that to the taste, the beer picks up remarkably. Sour cherries and brandy/bourbon come through very nicely. Mouth feel is a little watery. Draft. Pours mahogany brown with a thin beige head. Sweet nutty and fruity aroma with toasted malts and a light bourbon hint. The flavor has sweet chestnut, dark fruits, chocolate, toast and light bourbon sweetness. Really good.
