20oz draught at Underground. ABV is listed at 4.9%. Black pour, small beige head with good creaminess. Nose has dark cholesterol notes and lots of roast. Taste has big dry roasty notes, a bit of chocolate and some mild coffee bean note. Bit of a metallic and roasty tang at the end and a faint hop note. Average carbonation and body. Pretty basic, drinkable. HopRedHead (397) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 27, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours pitch black with 2cm of off-white head. Soy stout aroma with vegemite yeast notes. Taste is pretty dry and bitter, not sure if I like stouts this dry, but it tastes like it said it would. Okay, wouldn’t drink more than one. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 27, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours black with a small, firm light khaki head which lasts a fair while. Nose shows walnuts, macadamia, powdered chocolate and light coffee. Dry is an understatement. Probably about the driest stout I’ve had to date. Soy in the taste with light cocoa powder and bitter espresso on the after taste. Easy going. Not bad at all for the style novels (424) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 17, 2013
On the better side of average, but nothing to write home about. Dry indeed, with a nice foamy top and ruby black in color. Thick and very low ABV makes this a session brew indeed. alcaponejunior (438) - Texas, USA - APR 16, 2013
Pours brown to black and leaves a pretty small light tan head and sparse lacing.
Aroma wise it’s more like a brown ale to me, somewhat sweet and caramelly, with roasty and toasty notes.
Taste includes some brown sugar, roasty and toasty flavors, caramel, some coffee and chocolate. It’s far sweeter than most dry stouts.
Body is pretty good, medium to thick, with a sweet, roasty aftertaste.
It’s tasty but if I were doing the whole thing blind I would assume it was a brown ale. I’m still happy to drink it tho.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2013 Poured bottle to glass. Big tan head. Dark cola color, red tones when held to light. Wonderful toasty/coffee/alcohol aroma. Taste is malty/bitter/sour. Thin texture. Lively carbonation. Pleasant dry finish. More fizz than Guinness and less of a creamy texture but a really solid low abv stout. BeerKurve (520) - - APR 6, 2013
Pitch Black Color with a filmy brown head. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. The flavor is also fairly consistant with the smell albeit a bit lighter and a slight grassy undertone. Body is light and moderately carbonated. It’s a good light stout the manages to be tasty and refreshing georgekillian (344) - Alabama, USA - APR 6, 2013
Pretty decent reddish brown pour with a very drinkable finish. Has a malty roasted flavor with hints of coffee and caramel flavor. Very dry and crisp during the aftertaste GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 6, 2013
Tap at proletariat in NYC. Thanks puzzl. Clear ruby, deeper brown. Good tan lace. Nose is apple, toffee, red apple, very cidery. Lemon detergent. Taste is very thin, lots of soap, lemon. Pretty poor unfortunately. reebtogi (6277) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 6, 2013
12oz tulip glass on tap at the Underground Tap and Grill in Edmonton pours jet black in color with a finger of light brown head that leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild with roasted grains and chocolate. Taste is fuller with roasted grainy bitterness and chocolate malty sweetness. Mild carbonation and medium body. A very drinkable brew which would serve well as a dark session ale.
