Coffee aroma with chocolate roast accents. Light earthy hop aroma. Jet black appearance with a tan head with decent head retention. A sharp acrid roast dominates the flavor. Moderate levels of fruity esters present. Medium hop bitterness. Slightly acidic. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation. Roasted grain astringency lingers on the end. Overall, it's a little too acrid for my tastes and I'd prefer more creaminess.

Faint ground filter coffee nose, with some very faint hints of dark chocolate; possibly more cola stickiness. Fairly wet – but not water-y. Not that dry/bitter a finish – more of dark choc on finish than anything. Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark black, white head. I had this alongside a couple of other stouts and found it very low in hop (not entirely unexpected) but also quite sweet, with a nice roastiness but also some toffee and slightly lactic sweetness. So not that dry, and not that bitter, which made it less moreish. Draught @ BBB. Pours pale black with a frothy beige head that doesnät leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly malty and tiny earthy with roasted malts, crispbread, burnt toastdark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, moist soil, ash and minerals. Taste is bitter, malty and tiny fruity. Mouthfeel is soft, dry, slightly roasted astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, burnt toast, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate covered grilled banana, hay, moist soil, ash and minerals. Very decent stout. With the classic malty flavours. Its not as complex and interesting as many stouts, but it makes up for it with its strong earthy flavour.

Taste is very little grain bit bitter but for a beer called dry stout there is no dryness at all,bit fizzy

Pours a very dark blackish color with a good dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate, malt, roasty, bready, cocoa powder, coffee. Taste is espresso and coffee, chocolate, slightly bitter, bready. Dark brown pour with creamy brown head. Roast malt aroma with hints of cocoa. Flavor is as promised: dry. Roasted coffee, with a light bitterness in the finish (reminiscent of medium dark cocoa or black coffee). Very nice, would love to try a nitro version of this.
