COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

The color is copper to light orange and slightly hazy. The head is rather soapy and has a medium lifespan. The nose is ripe with notes of muscat, tangerine, herbs, and an afternoon walk in a pine forest. Upon taking a mouthful, the malts attempt to unfold their biscuit flavors when suddenly the hops of four varieties strike with floral bitterness, tangerine peels, herbs, and grape seeds. The dry finish really sticks around and leaves impressions of hazel nuts and tannic tangerine peels behind. A well-balanced hoppy delight.

Aroma: malt and grapefruit. Taste: medium bodied malty flavor from the start. Citrus and grass hops following in the middle. Heavily bitter hoppy aftertaste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden color, small white head. Sweet aromas of caramel, fruit, syrup and bread. Slight bitter taste with almonds, caramel, malt and floral hops.

Can picked up from Tesco, Bicester, Oxon, consumed at home B/H Monday 28th August 2017, whilst preparing Tuna Burgers with a Chinese Cabbage Tsatsiki. Dark gold in appearance with a mid sized white head. Fruity but with a good dose of caramel. It’s hoppy enough and rather a pleasant IPA but the flavour is tipped slightly too much in favour of the malt. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.5

appiantiqua (240) - Lyon, FRANCE - AUG 23, 2017
