COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Pours a very clean copper color with a modest white filmy head that has a good amount of staying power. Aroma has a very earthy hops punch with a light lemon citrus at the finish and some mild roasted malt presence at the tail end. Flavor has an early toasted malt presence which is quickly overtaken by a smooth earthy hops presence with notes of lemon and a noble hops bite at the finish. Body is modest with lots of fine carbonation and slight dryness imparted from the hop/toasted malt combination. Overall an enjoyable brew with a pretty pronounce, unique flavor. Nice to have one of these to mix up the typical American hopped pale ales out there on the market.

Klar brun farge med offwhite skumtopp. Lukter av malt, karamell og svakt av sitrus. Forholdsvis tynn og mild i smak. Medium bitter avslutning.

From tap at Souls (Copenhagen). Just an average IPA, a bit short in flavour. Notes of caramel & citrus, nice but a bit weak. Long bitter finish.

I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours a pale amber with a nice, white head and lacing. The aroma is hops, burnt toast, and caramel. The taste is the same with hints of citrus. This is a solid and nicely balanced IPA.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Head is big, creamy, ivory in color and averagely long lasting. Beer is clear and amber golden. Aroma is intense after mango, lemon cest, spice and resin. Taste is malty, a bit sweet that gets quickly covered by a creamy intense hop. Finish is intense with a long lasting hoppy bitterness. Some sourness fights itself through without having a real chance. In overall a very good IPA that lacks a bit fruitiness in taste but comes with one of the best price values in Germany. Carbonation is average and refreshing.
