On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served, displaying an opaque, black/brown color, with a fluffy layer of brownish tan head foam, and wavy lacing on the glass. The nose was nicely roasted, creamy, and woody, followed by a pleasant, mellow scent of grilled sausage/campfire smoke. The taste was somewhat similar notes, with the roastiness more defined with some coffee & light molasses, but seemed to wash out and became less robust in texture & body. Thus, light to medium bodied, moderate bitterness, moderate malt, with a seltzery quality to the carbonation, that seemed to reveal a hint of saltiness for the finish. Okay, but disappointed, considering the impressive start. jkwalking05 (4743) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JUL 11, 2014

On tap @ The Anderson. Deep dark robust porter with think dirty white head. chocolate, licorice, smoke. First sip doesn’t tell much, but after 5mins it warms in the back of mouth.long lingering roasted toast after taste. Smokeness is subtle and not overpowering. Chocolate and burnt wood warm the palate. Best in a chalice.

Keg at the Vintage. Smooth liquorice, dry and roasty, lingering dry finish, but not smoky enough! guzgorog (889) - FRANCE - MAY 31, 2014
On tap @ La Fine Mousse. Dark reddish-brown with a small persistent creamy beige head and little lacing. Aroma is of smoke, peated notes, chocolate, roasted malt, caramel and light vanilla. Taste is moderately smoke with peat, chocolate, coffee, caramel and vanilla. Light acidic presence. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Decent smoked beer. The light acidity in the taste is a little off, but otherwise it’s a solid well-balance beer.
