Amber color, ,alty and lightly bready and herbal aroma and flavor. Kinda sorta Scottish in that, but not quite. An interesting beer, though not one I’m likely to go back to. dnstone (3429) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - OCT 12, 2015
Golden amber in color. Light sweet ale aroma. A moderate ale, not very intense in any way; balanced and a bit bland. The spruce is hardly noticeable.

On tap at Barcade. Poured an amber color with a small sized off white head. Bread, caramel, and some pine, BeerRenter76 (1019) - Texas, USA - JUL 13, 2015
Originally rated on 4/19/14. Tried this on tap yesterday at the Wayside Pub in Lake Jackson. It pours a reddish brown tinged body with a off white cap that settled quickly. Aroma is very malt forward, grain, bread, some sweet fruitiness , some odd funkiness and booze. Mouthfeel was full and sticky. Flavor is grainy, bread, some caramel very slight fruit presence and the funk was there. Overall it was just o.k. the odd funk kinda spoiled it a bit for me.

Had this at a beer tasting event with over 50 breweries and I thought this was the most impressive brew there. Great amber color. Great taste. A little heavy for summer time but still very good. jackafholmes (1017) - - JUN 13, 2015
Keg at Bath hotel, sheffield. Amber with an off white head. Aroma is golden syrup and honey and sweet pastry. Taste is sweet and a bit tart, with a slight bitterness. Medium carbonation and body. adamnowek (2833) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAY 26, 2015
Hazy, slightly reddish orange. Smells a bit like a pine tree. Taste is sweet but not overbearing. Leighton (21494) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2015
Keg at Camden Town taproom. Pours clear, rich amber-yellowish with a pale cream head. The nose holds some rich bread, light meat, caramel. Medium to big sweet flavor with heavy bread, lots of caramel, slight leafy hops. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Sweet finish with sticky toasted sugars, loads more caramel. Fair. hombrepalo (1971) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 23, 2015
Taster. Poured an orangish color with aromas of light rye, some citrus and light floral hops. Flavors are the same light rye backbone with some nice spruce, syrupy and citrus notes.
