Appears quite dark for a lager with a good sized and active head of a reasonably creamy foam.
Creamy hop aromas, mildly fruity and sweet. Sweet in the mouth with some citrus fruits and honeyed malt then a lightly bittered finish. Very drinkable. A little bit fizzy for me but still excellent.
Very drinkable, which is aided by its very reasonable price. Interesting enough but not too much to think about when having a bit of a session. MishkinBeer (73) - , New York, USA - JAN 24, 2009
Brooklyn lager is clear, deep gold in color and has a quickly dissipating head. Upon popping the cap, the smell of fresh hops rises up pleasantly. In the flavor department we have a floral character with hints of apples, grapes, and sweet malts. The hops and sweetness actually hit you simultaneously, but the hops take the high road over the roof and sides of your mouth while the sweet flavors go underneath. The final act leaves you with some lingering sweetness coupled with dry bitterness. A very well balanced lager - one of the best I’ve had. Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2009
Bottled. Poured lighter amber with a short off-white head that stood up nicely. The aroma picked up sweet caramel and lighter fruity notes with pineapple and honey accents.. decent. The flavor had caramel and honey sweetness surrounded by spicy and citrus bitterness.. tacky and muddled on the finish. This really dried out toward the back of the palate, leaving a grainy impression.. didn’t flow well. ruggedman (647) - Portland, Maine, USA - JAN 24, 2009
On tap at Novare Res in Portland.
In a word, yum. This is a crisp, cool lager that’s got a handsome hop profile and a creamy smooth palate. Very nice beer! Gary (2064) - London( born and raised), Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2009
A good session lager.Still brewed to the ’pre-Prohibition recipe’, that’s cool to know. If you get a FRESH bottle, this has some of an ale like vibe. Caramel malt, floral ,resiny hops .So eazy to sink.!

pretty hoppy for a lager.....dry, flowery with a faint malty aftertaste. A very solid lager. crajun (1261) - , Texas, USA - JAN 21, 2009
Nice amber color with light medium head.

Good flavor/palate with a med/slight dry hop finish.

This is one of my favorite beers on tap. Golden color with a nice head. Aroma is hoppy with light citrus undertones. This is a very crisp beer with a good balance. I can drink this all night. llcooldave (1224) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - JAN 18, 2009
A bit darker than I expected. Amber in color. Clean hoppy aroma. Foamy off white head with a piney bitter aftertaste. Overall, a nice effort. I’m glad I finally can get this in TX.

Clear amber colour with small off-white head. Floral and fruity hoppy aroma. Right amount of hoppiness, no overdose. Same goes with the flavour. Refreshing hoppiness. This is absolutely one of my favourites. Excellent. Could drink this everyday.
