Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

12 oz bottle in NJ. Deep amber color with a tall, frothy white head that has good retention. This lager has more flavor than most, primarily due to the generous malt load. The malts also lend some additional sweetness. Overall: recommended version of style.

Pours a clear dark amber with white head. Has a strong grain and malty aroma. Heavy bodied but balanced lager with heavy grains, malts, caramel, and peppery notes. A lingering malty and grainy aftertaste.

SvanteL (644) - SWEDEN - SEP 23, 2017

A prominent hop bitterness, more than I would expect from A lager. But I liked it. Nicely balanced and refreshing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Schnabelhund (108) - TAIWAN - SEP 18, 2017
Brooklyn Lager pours a light amber to orange color. The head is tall, and while it doesn’t stick around forever, it is beautiful nonetheless. The rich bouquet has notes of flowers, apples, citrus, candy, berries, and even a hint of green unripe mango. The flavor opens up with a nice and very light roast with muted sweetness, followed by a smooth transition from orange to orange zest sprinkled with nuts before it finally leaves a long, tannic-bitter finish with warming, gentle alcohol behind. The mouthfeel is very gentle, with subtle carbonation that doesn’t mask the complex interplay of flavors of this particularly nice lager. What a pleasant surprise this was.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2017 Light amber color. Slight taste of malt and hops which doesn't dominate the taste at all.
