Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Sweet malt, bittered caramel malt. Some floral hops peek through on nose. Good looking amber with a white ring and splashy lacing. Looks like a lager that wants you to drink the shit out of it. Taste is really simple malt driven and delicious. Some hops come in to add balance quick and citrus. Great lager.

Very nice deep copper colour and a surprising sweet APA style. A good cleanser or modest session ale.

From the tap at Grub Burger, selected on a wing and a prayer. Turned out okay. It came in a pint glass a very cordial amber-red with a great head that laced well. Interesting first sample, malty, touch of corn, and a small hit of sweetness at the end. Good session beer. If this is Brooklyns top beer, they are doing it well there.

Bottle. Amber Gold. Tasty all-malt lager with floral bittering hops. Fairly astringent citrus hops over a buttery caramel malty base. More like an ale than a lager. Long bitter hoppy finish. A lager with a hop bite. Decent hoppy lager. (2008)

Clean dark gold. Medium head, medium retention. Aroma intensity 3.75/5. Cut grass and hay aroma. A bit of metal in the nose. Heavy bitter. Medium to full body. Fizzy carbonation. Bready aftertaste. The combination of the fizzy carbonation, thin texture and significant body gives it some roughness.

tastes like dishwater that's been dripped through a box of pine tree needles, this lager disappoints me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Xian Craft Beer Festival. Pours a slightly hazy orange beer with minimal beige head. Aroma starts fresh with some citrus, then dominated by malty bread and caramel tones. Taste is fresh and sweet with a mild bitter finish. Nice beer, could do with a bit more body.
