Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Verry hoppy for a lager. Clear amber pour. Malty aroma. Drinkable, but wont be listed among my favorites.

Brooklyn Lager pours a light amber to orange color. The head is tall, and while it doesn’t stick around forever, it is beautiful nonetheless. The rich bouquet has notes of flowers, apples, citrus, candy, berries, and even a hint of green unripe mango. The flavor opens up with a nice and very light roast with muted sweetness, followed by a smooth transition from orange to orange zest sprinkled with nuts before it finally leaves a long, tannic-bitter finish with warming, gentle alcohol behind. The mouthfeel is very gentle, with subtle carbonation that doesn’t mask the complex interplay of flavors of this particularly nice lager. What a pleasant surprise this was.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2017 Light amber color. Slight taste of malt and hops which doesn't dominate the taste at all.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Spoko lager. Pełniejszy, ciemniejszy i treściwsze od euro lagerów. Solidny, slodowy

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2017 Go-to lager for deliciousness. From previously contaminated NY land but assured at brewery in NY that the water is now awesome.

0,33 l Flasche. Helles, bernsteinfarbenes Bier, flacher, stabiler Schaum, akzeptable Gardine. Riecht fruchtig und malzig. Schmeckt nur leicht fruchtig, malzig, dezent bitter, leicht wässrig. Hätte mehr erwartet.
