Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Somewhat reminicent of a Sam Adams Boston Lager. Nice reddish-amber color and great hop/malt balance. The caramel maltiness is balanced out nicely by the citric/fruity hoppiness. Dangerously easy to drink. A well made "pre-prohibition" lager.

A very good lager that I enjoyed in the best bar in the world (brickskellar Washington DC). I had heard many good things about this brewry so I had to check this lager out. It has very good flavor in the malt. A nice bit of hoppiness and it drank very smooth

Pours clear amber, almost an iced-tea orange with a thin white head. Floral hoppy aroma. Sweet blend of light tart bitterness with full malty hops. Full body with slight creamy mouthfeel and a hoppy finish that left me craving more. Overall a pleasant surprise and a good drinking beer.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2006 Aroma: fruity, lovely hops, full-bodied malt, vaguely musty. Appearance: almost clear amber, some whiute, yellowtinged head that quickly lowers. Flavor: bitter, full-bodied thanks to some swetness, hoppy afterbitterness. Palate: just right carbonation, rich, refreshing, a little slimy.

This one had the predominantly malty biscuit aroma of a Vienna, and a slightly off-white head. The liquid pours with the dark copper color. The taste was extra sweet even for a Vienna, and was balanced nicely though with floral hops. A good session brew.

Having visited the brewery numerous times, this classic is one of my favorites. I love its floral aroma, and particularly the balance between hops and caramel.

50 cl [email protected] Airport in Brooklyn Lager [email protected] 7 degrees Centigrade. Pours clear orange with medium white head. Pretty faint aromas of malt and caramel with some American hops also present. The dry-hopping coming clearly through with a taste of floral American hop nicely balanced with malt, roasted malt and caramel. Not sweet, just round. Slightly bitter, lingering aftertaste. More hops, more taste that most lagers and I like that. Another good brew from Brookly Brewery.

Deep gold color. Fluffy white head. Citrusy hoppy nose with biscuity malt overtones. Assertive hop flavors are well balanced by the strong malts. Clean finish.

There’s a honeyed caramel note on the nose whereas the palate has more hops with a lovely mild bitter, hoppy finish. There’s a great, creamy body to it as well. A wonderful lager.
